Urgench State University

In 1992, February 28, according to the 356 decree of the president of Uzbekistan, Urgench State University named after Al-Khorezmiy was founded on the basis of the Khorezm State Pedagogical Institute. There are 33 Bachelor degree programs and 9 Master degree programs. Faculties: Physics and Mathematics, Philology and Art, Foreign Languages, Natural science and Geography, Pedagogy, History, Economics, Chemistry and Technics, Physical Culture

Total number of students is 7056; Number of foreign students is 29.

There are 470 teachers-professors, 23 of them are doctor- professors, 173 are assistant professors, and 264 of them are teachers and assistant teachers.

There are 160 of teacher-professors who were retrained and improved their professional skill last three years and among them 43 abroad. During 2011 were published 634 scientific articles, 9 monographs, 4 books and 18 academic methodical.
